Farmer's Report

Turkey Trends - June 24, 2022

Analysts report that the whole turkey market increased this week. Analysts expect this market to trend flat to upward in the near term, and have reported that the 2021 cold storage inventory was 24% lower year-over-year. Analysts are forecasting short supply for 2022.

The boneless, skinless turkey breast market remained unchanged. Analysts expect this market to trend higher in the near term, due to processors managing through short supply, and impacts from avian influenza and ongoing labor issues. Very limited spot loads of turkey breasts have been uncovered, and pricing is at record highs, according to analysts.
