Red Jumbo Onions

Picked from the spring and summer crop that is available from March through August, our jumbo red onions have thin, light-colored skin and are typically sweeter and milder than storage onions. Red onions are a milder-flavored onion, and are often considered a prettier variety that is used in showcase dishes like baked goods and salads. These jumbo red onions have a diameter of over 3 in., and are best used fresh, grilled or charbroiled. To keep the flavor strong, prep these red onions as close to cooking time as possible.
