Maurizio Bussolino is the Food Fanatic Chef in the Detroit market and has been with US Foods since March of 2023 where he joined to company as a Market Sou Chef. Maurizio holds a CEC certification through the American Culinary Federation. He Grew up in Italy’s Piemonte region and became a culinarian at a young age working in restaurants in the city of Alba, alongside classical Chefs. Enabled by Michelin Starred and Cordon Bleu trained chefs Maurizio followed his culinary dream and turned his ambitions into reality. Chef Maurizio has been in the hospitality industry for over 35 years. He dedicated his passion to students for over 11 years in higher education by becoming a culinary arts professor and Chef instructor at the International Culinary School and Washtenaw community college. A few highlights of his career in food & beverage consist of Executive chef of Ristorante Volare at the Gaylord Opryland Resort, The Nashville Symphony, and the Cool Springs Marriott. His favorite hobby is beer brewing. In Pinckney Michigan, where his home is, his passion for food has led him into building a small brewing lab he calls “The Beer Kitchen”. He also fabricated a fire brick pizza oven, and he enjoys this oasis with his 3 sons his wife Sara and a silly cat name Everest.
