Mesquite Blondies


  • 1-1/2 c All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c Mesquite powder
  • 1 tsp. Baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1/4 tsp. Baking soda
  • 10 T Unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 c Light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla
  • 3/4 c Chocolate chips
  • 3/4 c Pecans, chopped


Sift flour with mesquite and add baking powder, salt and baking soda; set aside.

Blend butter with sugar, mixing well. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well. Add flour slowly, blending. Batter will be slightly thick.

Spread batter into a greased and floured 9" x 13" x 2" pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans on top and bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and slice into desired size.
