Diversity & Inclusion

INCREASING THE DIVERSITY OF OUR WORKFORCE AND LEADERS

US Foods® is committed to cultivating a diverse workforce built upon wide-ranging perspectives, unique experiences and a multitude of backgrounds and identities. Through multifaceted recruiting and training efforts, we strive to attract and develop a pipeline of diverse talent to maximize the strength of our teams and provide the highest quality service for our customers every day.

Leadership Diversity

We have been working to further diversify our leadership at the director-level and above. In 2023, 51% of those positions were filled with diverse candidates, up from 47% at year-end 2022. Of the 51%, 33% were women and 32% were people of color. Even though we are seeing improvement in these numbers, we continue enhancing our recruiting and hiring processes to further diversify our candidate slates. We expect our development programs and expanded hiring strategies to help us continue increasing both workforce and leadership diversity.

Our Workforce Diversity Metrics

We are pleased that our focused D&I efforts have allowed us to increase diverse representation in our workforce, and we will continue expanding our recruiting efforts to make sure we have continued access to the best candidates for each role, while at the same time maintaining a workplace culture that values the unique skills, backgrounds and perspectives of our associates, in turn enhancing associate retention. We recognize that diversity makes us stronger together and positions us to continue providing exceptional service to our diverse customers.
