She’s the mother of one, as well as principal of Bakergroup Foodservice Consulting and Design; she previously was director of dining services at the University of Kansas. Golledge weighs in on some of the defining traits and offers suggestions to meet their needs.

They’re tech-savvy digital natives who enjoy instant info from any type of screen, especially their mobile devices.

Build an app and make sure it offers sourcing info and nutritional profiles about all your menu items. Online ordering should be simple and provide an online forum for feedback and communication.

Develop grab-and-go options and quick-serve kiosks, even for made-to-order fare. Prepayment options and delivery options are also a must. Estimate that you have about five seconds to grab their interest; miss it and they’re history.
