Beef Banh Mi Hot Dog

Ingredients

  • 1 ea. Patuxent Farms® 4:1 All-Beef Hot Dog
  • 1 ea. Hilltop Hearth® 6" White Hot Dog Bun
  • 2 oz. Cross Valley Farms® Asian-Style Blend
  • 1 lb. Monarch® Green Chickpeas
  • 1 c, ea. White Wine Vinegar, Water
  • 1 T Salt
  • 1 T Sugar
  • 1 T Crushed Red Pepper
  • Garnish Thinly Sliced Jalapeño
  • Garnish Cross Valley Farms Fresh Chopped Cilantro
  • 1.2 T Sriracha Mayo

PREPARATION

For pickled chickpeas:

  1. Combine water, vinegar and sugar and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat immediately and stir until salt and sugar is dissolved, add crushed red pepper. 3. Pour over the chickpeas and set in cooler. They will be ready to serve when cool and can be stored under refrigeration for a week
  2. Combine Asian-style Blend with sriracha mayo. Set aside.
  3. Cut vertical slits evenly along the hot dog and grill.
  4. Warm bun on grill.
  5. Top hot dog with spicy slaw and pickled green chickpeas. 
  6. Garnish with sliced fresh jalapeño and chopped cilantro.
