Lemon-X Corporation of Huntington Station, NY issued a CLASS I recall on Thirster
Brand Iced Tea bag-in-the-box concentrates due to a slight change in the final pH of the product that
shortened the product’s overall shelf life. The product is pasteurized so there is no health risk and no
illnesses are associated with consumption of the ice tea concentrates. The product was distributed to

Michael Foods Hard-Cooked Eggs - Expanded Recall |
Michael Foods Inc. of Minnetonka, Minn. has issued an expanded Class I recall on additional
brands of hard-cooked eggs in 10 and 25 pound tubs. The product was widely distributed to the foodservice sector
from mid-December 2011 through the end of January 2012. Product testing revealed the possible presence of

Frozen Pancakes Recalled - Missing Allergen Label |
Pinnacle Food Group LLC of Cherry Hill, NJ has issued a CLASS I recall on
Aunt Jemima and Hilltop Hearth Frozen Pancakes. The product was distributed nationwide to foodservice
distributors. Affected products have a recommended use-by date of between November 1, 2011 and
October 16, 2012. Cases are packed as 12/12-count. The Hilltop Hearth case has a GTIN number of 0758108618152.
Aunt Jemima cases have a GTIN of 0019600435877. Recalled product was shipped beginning July 1, 2011
through this week. The pancakes may contain soy – a food allergen – which is not listed on the label. (View PDF to read more)

Michael Foods Hard-Cooked Eggs Recalled |
Michael Foods Inc. of Minnetonka MN has issued a Class I recall on three lots of
Papetti’s Brand hard-cooked eggs in 25lb tubs. The product was widely distributed to the foodservice
sector during the second week of January. Product testing revealed the possible presence of Listeria.
No illnesses have been reported. The recalled product may be identified by lot codes 1362W, 1363W,

Expanded Class I Recall on Alfalfa Sprouts |
Green Valley Food Corporation of Dallas TX has expanded their CLASS I recall on “Let Us Grow Healthy
Together” Alfalfa Sprouts to include additional harvesting dates. The product was distributed primarily in the Southwest
and includes ALL lot numbers. A sample of the product tested positive for the presence of Salmonella. No confirmed
illnesses have been reported at this time. Recalled alfalfa sprouts are in a plastic container that measures 4-inch
by 4-inch with a lid. The UPC number is 714722228818. The label has blue lettering that states “Let’s Grow Healthy Together!”

Sprouts and Spinach Recalled |
U.S. Foods has been informed by two different regional produce distributors of recalls of
fresh alfalfa sprouts and cello-pack spinach. A sample of the sprouts tested positive for salmonella, and
a sample of spinach tested positive for E. coli O157:H7. No Illnesses have been reported to date.
Spinach brands recalled include Krisp Pak 1O oz bags, Better Brand 10oz.bags, and Avon Heights 4-

At a Glance: Press coverage continues regarding the Listeria outbreak associated
with Rocky Ford Melons. The CDC as of yesterday has linked a total of 22 persons
infected with the outbreak associated strains of Listeria monocytogenes from 7 states.
The products were distributed to 17 states.

Rocky Ford Melons Recalled |
Today, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) identified Jensen Farms of Colorado as
the grower of the Rocky Ford Melons that are the source of the ongoing Listeria
outbreak in 17 states. The suspect melons were harvested in August and September
and distributed across the United States. Jensen Farms has issued a RECALL on
their whole cantaloupes. Rocky Ford melons from other growers are not implicated in the outbreak.

Study Finds Staphylococcus in Raw Meat |
Last week the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), an Arizona-based
non-profit released the findings on a study on 136 meat samples, covering 80
brands, from 26 grocery stores in five states. The study found 47% of the
samples contaminated with Staphylococcus aureus, and about half of those

DeFranco and Sons of Los Angeles, CA, is recalling bulk and consumer-packaged
in-shell, hazelnut and mixed nut products containing hazelnuts because they may
be contaminated with Escherichia coli O157:H7 bacteria (E. coli O157:H7). The
recall was initiated after the nut products were linked to 7 illnesses in the
states of MI, MN, and WI. To-date, no E. coli 0157:H7 has been detected in the
